15 Questions to Ask a Self-Loading Mixer Supplier Before You Pay
Copy this list into your next enquiry. The answers — and how quickly they come back — will tell you more than any brochure. Send it to every supplier you are comparing and put the replies side by side.
About the machine
- What is the rated mixing capacity and what is the realistic output per 10-hour day?
- What steel grade is used on the load-bearing frame and loading arm, and what is the drum liner?
- What is the weighing accuracy, and is the system calibrated before shipment?
- What is the gradeability fully loaded, and is the drive articulated 4×4 with planetary reduction?
- What is the drum discharge angle — 180° or 270°?
- Engine brand, power and emission standard — and is it legal to import in my country?
About the company
- Can you do a live video call from the production line right now, with today’s date on a board?
- How many units of this model do you build per year, and since when?
- Can you give me patent numbers and the exact registered company name on the contract?
About the deal
- What is the lead time for my configuration, counted from which event?
- What are the Incoterms and port, and what exactly is included?
- What are the payment terms, and is the beneficiary the same legal entity as on the contract? (Never pay a company invoice to a personal account.)
About what happens afterwards
- What is the warranty period and what does it exclude?
- What is in the spare-parts kit, and what is the lead time on common wear parts in year two and three?
- Who gives technical support, in which language, and what is the response time?
How to read the answers
Look for numbers, not adjectives. “High quality steel” is not an answer; “40Cr alloy on the load-bearing structure” is. Also watch the pattern: a supplier who answers 12 questions precisely and says “I need to check” on three is more trustworthy than one who answers all 15 instantly and vaguely.
