Disaster response: crossing a flood ordinary vehicles could not
In July 2017, when severe flooding struck Longtou Township in Yizhou, Guangxi (China), the only access road into Jiafeng village was submerged to roughly 1.7 metres and completely cut off — leaving more than 30 households stranded and short of food. With the road impassable to ordinary vehicles, a self-loading concrete mixer was driven straight through the floodwater to reach the village and deliver relief supplies to residents. (Reported by the Yizhou municipal news centre.)
